Wim Wenders

Wenders gained recognition as part of the German New Wave of the 1970s and later in the 1990’s distinguished himself as a non-fiction filmmaker, directing several highly acclaimed documentaries. Wenders continually walked the line between art house aesthetic and commercial appeal with his vast body of work becoming a preeminent poet of the open road, soulfully tracing the journeys of wanderers and drifters searching for themselves.
He was nominated for 3 Academy Awards for his documentaries.
