Director Pedro Almodovar follows a slightly unbalanced television actress who embarks on a journey to find out why her lover abruptly left her encountering a variety of eccentric characters whose lives are all unexpectedly intertwined. Almodovar creates a farcical and raunchy comedy with an overwhelming liveliness and color scheme that contrasts with the despair and grief of its female characters .
