Director Truffaut follows the story of an stage actress who has to take control of her husband’s theatre in occupied Paris while he hides and directs their play from the basement and she starts developing feelings for their lead actor. Truffaut creates and striking and engaging film that provides a mesmerizing and realistic view of life under German Occupation but for some the plot may appear slow and superficial .
