Adventure Drama Western Film

John Ford follows the story of an assorted group of strangers making their way across the Wild West aboard an stagecoach contending with the presence of an escaped outlaw and the ever-present danger of an Apache attack. With his dynamic direction John Ford creates a landmark in the western genre which, shot in black an white, features strong characterizations played well by the ensemble cast and ends up making a star out of John Wayne. However it may seem dull and politically incorrect for todays standards.
It won 2 Academy Awards and was nominated for another 5.
