Director Akira Kurosawa follows the tale of a poor farming village under the attack of bandits that requests protection to an unemployed samurai who gathers six others to help him teach the farmers how to defend themselves. Kurosawa creates an epic adventure tale with a compelling story, memorable characters, and stunning action sequences that make it one of the most influential films ever made but some can find it long at over 3 hours .
It was nominated for 2 Academy Awards.
