Blue Velvet

Director David Lynch follows the story of a college student who after returning to his home town finds a severed human ear in a local field and decides to carry his own investigation aided by the police’s detective daughter discovering a dark underworld where a troubled beautiful singer seems to be key to solve the mystery. Lynch creates a powerful, unsettling thriller that provides an original and sometimes bizarre look at sex, violence, and crime under the peaceful exterior of small-town Americana in the mid-80s.
