Richard Donner

After directing commercials and industrial films in the 1950’s he went to become one of Hollywood's most reliable makers of action blockbusters starting with the epic Superman which set the bar for all other comic book-based movies to follow. Donner’s filmography also included horror, adventure and comedy becoming known for his vision and guile and prized for his populist sensibility always favoring story over effects.
