Gene Kelly

He is known for his performances as a dancer in musicals, some of which made it to our list :
An American in Paris (1951)
He also starred in another film outside the musical genre in our list:
Inherit the Wind (1960)
But it was his choreography and the synergy with co-director Stanley Donen which allowed them to create one of the best musicals of all time which sits in the top 10 of our All-Time Best Films:
Singing in the Rain (1952)
They were nominated at the DGA for Best Director for the film while Kelly recieved an Honorary Academy Award for his career achievements the same year .
