True Grit (1969)

Henry Hathaway follows a stubborn teenage girl who hires a drunken hard nosed US Marshall to track her father’s murderer into Indian territory clashing with a Texas ranger hunting the same man. Hathaway creates an action-packed, humorous, road trip-styled revenge epic with a performance that finally allows John Wayne to claim a best actor Academy Award.
