To Have and Have Not

Director Howard Hawks follows the story of a fishing boat captain who is persuaded into smuggle French Resistance fighters into Martinique inadvertently involving and getting in trouble a singer that he is romancing and a drunk friend.
Director Hawks creates an entertaining adventure out of Hemingways less recognized novel benefiting from the real-life chemistry between Bogart and Lauren Bacal.
