The Kid

Chaplin follows his character The Tramp who after discovering , rescuing and raising an abandoned orphan has to find a way to keep the authorities from taking him away now that his mother became successful and wants to be back in the kid’s life.
Chaplin’s opening tile “a picture with a smile - and perhaps a tear” becomes his trademark which is reinforced with the chemistry provided by the great performance of young Jackie Coogan.
