Director Danny Boyle follows a penniless teenager from the slums of Mumbai who after being accused of cheating in the Indian version of “who Wants To Be a Millionaire?” has to explain how the staggering experiences of his life allowed him to know the answers to the questions in the show while the big prize and the object of his affection are still on the line. Boyle creates an energetic and emotionally resonant fairytale with a hard-headed social conscience using bright colors amid an impoverished setting and capturing the life force of his characters.
