Django Unchained

Director Quentin Tarantino follows the story of a slave before the civil war who after a successful mission to capture some vicious criminals is freed and sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal plantation-owner in Mississippi. Director Tarantino re-imagines history with an entertaining well-written tale of revenge which is presented as a ultra-violent spectacle masked as a spaghetti western .
It won 2 Academy Awards while nominated for Best Picture.
