As World War II dominated news headlines, people needed to be entertained more than ever with this iconic success continuing into the 1940’s as the studios were trying to reduce their budgets and being more selective of the movies being produced.
In 1942, the War Production Board forced movie studios to find creative and cheap ways to produce movies. In 1948, the Supreme Court forced the Big Five to sell their movie theaters and become more selective about the films they produced.
