The Shining

Kubrick follows a writer who drags his family to a secluded hotel to work as an off-season caretaker and try to inspire to keep writing but instead loses his mind and starts acting violently against his wife and son, the latter being affected with horrific visions from past and future.
Kubrick creates a disturbing atmosphere and a feeling of unease studying madness and the unreliable narrator with an overpowering performance by Jack Nicholson.
