Director Dziga Vertov follows a man traveling around a Russian city with a camera slung over his shoulder, documenting ordinary daily urban life with dazzling invention. Man with a Movie Camera is famous for the range of cinematic techniques Vertov invented, employed or developed becoming an influential masterpiece of avant-garde experimentalism and, fleetingly, an unexpected critique of the continuing class struggle.
