Epic Historic Romance Drama

It follows the story of a southern belle on a sprawling plantation and her survival through the tragic story of the South during the Civil War and reconstruction who has a tumultuous relationship with a rebellious gentleman. It is an astonishing colorful piece of filmmaking craft that tells a good story from the era’s perspective, however it ignores the horrors of slavery perpetuating minority stereotypes.
